Hunter Whitney is a consultant, author, and instructor who brings a distinct UX design perspective to data visualization. He has advised corporations, start-ups, government agencies, and NGOs to achieve their goals through a thoughtful, strategic design approach to digital products and services. Hunter is the author of "Data Insights: New Ways to Visualize and Make Sense of Data”. He was also asked to contribute a chapter in the book, “Designing for Emerging Technologies: UX for Genomics, Robotics, and the Internet of Things”. Zahid Jiwa is an experienced Vice President of Sales who has an excellent track record in growing revenues for technology companies since beginning his career as an Analyst at Accenture, a management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. He then moved to Showcase PR as Sales Director before becoming EMEA Director of Sales at digital marketing technology provider, Silverpop Systems. OutSystems is a software company that offers a rapid application delivery platform designed to make building and maintaining enterprise web and mobile applications easy, enabling IT to deliver innovative business solution. As VP of Sales in the UK and Ireland, Zahid has created a robust and sustainable go-to-market strategy as well as developing a senior level sales and marketing team for OutSystems in the UK. Zahid is especially interested in raising awareness around agile development and what an agile platform can do to help organisations innovate and enhance the speed of change, a passion he shares through discussion and debate with peers in the industry. Amber DeRosa is a senior usability engineer working for a large financial company. She has tested over 150 mobile users across nearly 20 mobile studies, examining native iOS and Android applications as well as responsive websites. Since 2009, she has adapted her mobile testing techniques to maximize learnings gained from every test session. To ensure usability tests positively impact the business and our users’ experience, she regularly presents test findings with executive audiences throughout the company. Beyond testing, executive stakeholders and product owners look to her for consultative guidance on mobile best practices and heuristic feedback. She was the founding Vice-Chair of PhillyCHI a local chapter of the ACM SIG CHI and has been an active member of the local Philadelphia UX community since 2004. Thomas Wendt
Thomas Wendt is a consultant based in New York City, specializing in user research, experience strategy, product strategy, and innovation. Thomas is part theorist and part practitioner, firmly believing that theory and practice need to learn how to play nice if we’re ever going to be truly innovative. He comes from a background in psychology, philosophy, and literary studies—all of which have a strong influence on his design and strategic processes. He strives for a deep understanding of the relationship between people and technology, as this relationship is what shapes product design. He frequently teaches, writes, and speaks, on a variety of topics including intro UX, strategy, context-aware computing, philosophy and design, mobile UX, knowledge work, lean process and theory, and semiotics. His articles have been published in UX Magazine, Semionaut, UX Booth, and the Journal of Information Architecture (forthcoming). Presentations have been delivered both nationally and internationally at conferences such as Interaction 14 (forthcoming), LeanUX NYC, UX Cambridge, MidwestUX, FutureM, and a variety of smaller events in the NYC area. Thomas also teaches classes through General Assembly and independently for clients on topics such as Intro to UX, UX for Strategists, Research Methods, Design Thinking, and Product Ideation Methods. Thomas lives in the NoLita neighborhood of Manhattan in a tiny, modernist-by-default apartment with his lovely wife, Niki. In his spare time, he enjoys seeing how many books he can fit on his shelves and lusting after furniture he can't afford.
Aria Haghighi is the co-founder and CTO of Prismatic, the web and mobile news service growing fast thanks to rich relevance and beautiful design. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, specializing in Statistical Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. During his graduate studies, he published over 20 papers in top conferences, was a Microsoft Research Fellow, and won multiple awards for his research and teaching. He also holds a BS in Mathematics with distinction from Stanford University.

Cory Lebson (@corylebson), author of The UX Careers Handbook (CRC Press, 2016), has been a user experience consultant for over 20 years. He is the Principal and Owner of Lebsontech LLC, a successful user experience consulting firm he established in 1997. Lebsontech is focused on user research and evaluation, user experience strategy, UX training, and mentoring. Cory also speaks frequently on topics related to UX career development, user experience, user research, information architecture, and accessibility. He has been featured on the radio and in addition to his recent book, has published a number of articles in a variety of professional publications. Cory has an MBA in marketing and technology management, as well as an MA in sociology and a BS in psychology. Cory is a past president of the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA) International and is also a past president of the UXPA DC Chapter.
