Robb and Josh welcome renowned publisher and information architect Lou Rosenfeld for a conversation that gets into the roots of experience design while exploring the full bloom of generative AI. Running Rosenfeld Media for nearly two decades has given Lou incredible insights into the publishing world as well as UX, which most Rosenfeld titles explore in specific ways. This great conversation brings lessons from the past to the fore as we race ahead with technology.

Lou Rosenfeld is Rosenfeld Media’s founder and publisher. Like many user experience folk, Lou started somewhere (library science), made his way somewhere else (information architecture), and ended up in an entirely different place (publishing and conference production).

Lou spent most of his career in information architecture consulting, first as founder of Argus Associates and later as an independent consultant, working with such organizations as Caterpillar, Paypal, Ford, AT&T, and the Centers for Disease Control. He co-founded the Information Architecture Institute, as well as the IA Summit, DesignOps Summit, Advancing Research, Enterprise UX, Civic Design, and Design in Product conferences. Lou has edited or co-authored five books, including the IA “bible,” Information Architecture for the Web and Beyond, and Search Analytics for Your Site. He lives in Brooklyn, New York, and posts regularly on LinkedIn.
