AI Agents and Intelligent Digital Workers
Most of the software in the world runs on explicit if-this-then-that instructions. IDWs are a different approach to software, running on objectives rather than explicit instructions. For example, tell an IDW to book a meeting with two other people in your org and it can coordinate schedules around that objective.
In a teeming ecosystem, IDWs are completing objectives or passing them to other IDWs with the requisite skills. IDWs are also in regular contact with people via human-in-the-loop. While AI agents are often presented as complete solutions, they are essentially a technique for orchestrating large language models along with other technologies to complete meaningful.
