Don Norman, a prolific figure in the field of design, has retired five times since 1993, leaving a profound impact at each juncture. From founding the Cognitive Science Department at the University of California, San Diego, to his role as Apple Fellow and pioneer of the term “User Experience,” his contributions have shaped the discipline.
Despite his multiple retirements, Don remains active, serving as a board member at NN/g and contributing to nonprofit initiatives like The Don Norman Design Award and Summit. At 88 years old, he continues to inspire and engage in endeavors that push the boundaries of design and innovation.
