Carissa Carter is a User Experience Designer and Executive Coach in Strategic Design Processes at Parallel Design Labs. She works with clients that range from startups to the Fortune 500 on intentionally applying design to products, experiences, and services. Prior to founding Parallel, Carissa lived in Hong Kong and led user research for the Asia market for Herman Miller. She’s also been a researcher and product designer at Google and IDEO. Carissa recently authored a travel guide to Hong Kong based on sensory experiences, and she presently serves as Creative Director for Scree Magazine, an executive coach at the Stanford d.school, and an adjunct professor at Williams College.
Carissa has a MS Engineering – Product Design from Stanford University, a MS Earth Sciences from UC Santa Cruz, and a BA Geoscience from Williams College. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
