Laura Herman is a researcher at the University of Oxford’s Oxford Internet Institute. Her work examines the impact of algorithmic curation on global visual cultures, with a focus on inclusivity and the Global South. Laura is also a fellow at OII-Dieter Schwarz and Erasmus University Rotterdam FemLab.
At Adobe, Laura leads a team researching emerging creative technologies and platforms. Her previous creative applications have been recognized as Apple’s “App of the Day” and received a Webby People’s Choice Award. With a background in Neuroscience & Psychology from Princeton, Laura explores how technology influences human artistry and has exhibited her own projects at prestigious venues like the Tate and Ars Electronica.
