Kara Swisher is the co-founder and editor-at-large of Recode, a prominent tech news platform. She is the producer and host of the popular podcasts Recode Decode and Pivot, and co-executive producer of the Code Conference series. Swisher also hosts a special series on MSNBC, Revolution, which explores the impact of technology on work and society, and contributes opinion pieces to the New York Times. Prior to Recode, she co-produced and co-hosted the Wall Street Journal’s “D: All Things Digital” conference series with Walt Mossberg, featuring interviews with tech giants like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Jeff Bezos.
Before establishing Recode, Swisher was a reporter and columnist for the Wall Street Journal, where she penned the “BoomTown” column and covered major internet and technology stories. She began her journalism career at the Washington Post and City Paper of Washington, DC. Swisher holds degrees from Georgetown University and Columbia University, and is the author of two books on the digital revolution: aol.com and There Must Be a Pony in Here Somewhere.
