- In-person coverage of your event
- Distribution of event recordings or presentation recaps
- Media sponsorship
- Advertising
We are also happy to work one-on-one with you to craft a partnership arrangement that meets your needs. For inquiries and more information, please email us at [email protected].
Get listed on our public calendar
UX Magazine hosts a public calendar of events at uxmag.com/events to make it easier for the community to find relevant, interesting event and conference opportunities. It’s free to list your event; just click here to create a new listing.
Want a stronger presence among our event listings? We can feature your event at the top of the page as shown in the mockup below (click for a larger version). Please contact us for pricing and other advertising opportunities.
Let us help you identify speakers and panelists for your next event
Every day, we at UX Magazine have the privilege of working with some of the most interesting and accomplished professionals in UX and related experience-driven fields, as well as with executives and business leaders who oversee experience-oriented strategies, companies, and products. Our extensive connections in the top tiers of the UX community and our partnerships with event organizers makes it possible for us to facilitate speaking and panelist opportunities to make the experience much easier for everyone involved.
If you’re looking to fill specific gaps in your program, we can help you clarify your requirements and identify an expert who’s perfectly suited to make a presentation on that topic.
If you’d like to add a UX or experience-related track to your event but aren’t sure how, we can help you understand the domain and figure out how best to structure and present it for your event’s audience and goals. Using that information, we’ll identify a list of potential presenters who fit the desired program and facilitate the collection, vetting, and refinement of topic proposals. If there are specific, well-known speakers or experts who you’d like to ask to participate, we can help you formulate your request and leverage our connections to be more likely to succeed.
If you have a large number of openings for presentations and panelists for your event, we make the process of filling those openings much easier. We’ll help disseminate information about the opportunity to a well-qualified list of potential presenters and work with them to collect, vet, and refine their topic proposals. With our assistance, the process can be much more orderly, submissions will be much better qualified and prepared, and less will be left to the last minute.
And finally, even if you don’t require our hands-on assistance, we will soon be adding a feature to our Events section that allows you to include information about topic submission deadlines and guidelines. This information will be available only to UX Magazine contributors and qualified members, who will be able to subscribe to updates and reminders about the upcoming opportunities that you post.
Bylined editorial from presenters and participants at your event
Prior to your event, we can collaborate with you and some of the presenters and participants at your event to produce bylined editorial pieces for publication as regular articles in UX Magazine. Such articles are usually on subjects related to the contributors’ presentations, or themes and tracks at the event. We will work directly with the contributors to faciliatate the development of their articles.
Please note: All such articles are subject to our ordinary, full editiorial review and approval process. This means that the contributors we identify should be prepared to collaborate with an editor to develop and refine their submissions, and that some may be rejected if they do not meet our editorial standards and requirements (this happens very infrequently, though). The process of developing an article from topic selection to publication can take as long as two months, so we recommend beginning this process as soon as possible.
In-person coverage of your event
Depending upon the availability of our contributors and editors, we can attend your conference or event in-person. We typically promote our attendance at the event ahead of time via our social media channels, and publish at least one article related to the event’s program and presenters. If we send one of our contributors, we ask that their hotel be covered by the conference as applicable.
Distribution of event recordings or presentation recaps
Traffic to your event’s website may be high in the lead-up to the event but then quickly tapers off after the event, so if you’d like a long tail of promotion following the event, you may benefit from distributing event recordings via UX Magazine. We will soon be adding a section to our site dedicated to classes, seminars, and other types of live or narrated-slideshow presentations. Some of these will be available for free, while others will be available for purchase.
Conference presentations are very well suited for this section and are relatively easy to produce since contributors have already prepared the presentation for the conference. We can work with event organizers and/or presenters to take recordings of the presentations (either recorded live from the event or before or after it as a narrated slideshow and screen recording) and prepare them for distribution through our Seminars section, and through other distirbution channels UX Magazine partners with. If you or the presenter wants to charge for access to the recording, we will collaborate to set a price and will manage all aspects of the distribution, billing, payments, and marketing in exchange for a percentage of the revenue.
We can also partner with you to manage all aspects of the recording and distribution of all of your event’s content. Professional, live recording is technically and logistically complicated, so if you’d like our support with this please contact us as early as possible.
Media sponsorship
We can work with you to design a custom media sponsorship arrangement. There are many potential options for UX Magazine’s side of the sponsorship:
- Editorial related to the event, its speakers, sessions, and programs for publication before, or during the event.
- Event promotion in the weeks / months leading up to the event via Twitter and other social media mechanisms.
- Attendance of a UX Magazine representative and active promotion of our presence at the event via social media channels and potentially an article in our Short News section.
- Custom display advertising packages on UX Magazine.
- Publicity for special discounted rates for event tickets.
- Giveaway contest for one or more free tickets to generate awareness about the event.
- Live blogging or tweeting from the event if a UX Magazine representative is present.
- Sponsored tweets or Facebook posts.
- And many others.
Please note: A critical consideration in designing media sponsorships will be that each aspect (except display ads) that affects UX Magazine readers must benefit the readers and not just be advertising. UX Magazine does not run advertorial, and all social media communications must contain something of potential use to our readers. For example, if we’re going to run a Short News article prior to the event and publish associated announcements via our social media networks, it should give readers access to an exclusive discount or some other tangible benefit.
UX Magazine’s role in a sponsorship and the considerations we ask in exchange from the event organizer will vary case-by-case. Please contact us to begin a discussion about a sponsorship arrangement.
