Blaise Agüera y Arcas is the CTO of Technology & Society at Google. A winner of MIT Technology Review’s TR35 Prize and Fast Company’s Most Creative People Award, Blaise is a frequent speaker at TED and other prestigious conferences. At Google, he leads the Paradigms of Intelligence (Pi) team, which interweaves AI with ideas and expertise from fields like computer science, neuroscience, biology, and philosophy.
Blaise’s research into the relationship between art and technology, and on physiognomy and bias in Al, was incorporated into his book Who Are We Now? (Hat & Beard Press). His debut novella, Ubi Sunt (2022), won the AIGA 50 Books 50 Covers Award. His new work, What is Life? (MIT Press), is the first installment in a larger book project with Antikythera titled What Is Intelligence?.
