User Experience Research Lead

User Experience Research Lead - ACC002499



The User Experience Research Lead is responsible for leading and overseeing user research activities from to inform experience design, as well as to diagnose adoption and satisfaction issues. This includes planning, designing research protocols, managing the research resources, leading the analysis and recommendation phase, and, in collaboration with the UX Architect, defining personas and scenarios. The Lead will also develop and maintain persona-based KPI dashboards and measurement plans, provide input to MRL (Merck Research Laboratories) programs on success metrics and change management, and conduct periodic experience realization audits.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in HCI, Cognitive Psychology, Anthropology, Human Factors, Sociology, or related field

Required:

  • 5-10 years of experience in planning, conducting and managing primary user research
  • Acute observation skills
  • Command of the primary user research methods and tools
  • Ability to plan, design and analyze field studies and usability tests
  • High degree of creativity
  • Story telling, interaction design and problem solving ability
  • Strong compassion for the users
  • Ability to synthesize research data into personas and scenarios
  • Practical knowledge of user experience metrics and KPIs
  • Excellent presentation skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and moderate
  • Experience working with various departments within a project team team
  • Team player that sees value in diversity of skills and perspectives
  • A strong portfolio of work samples (e.g. research plans, research instruments, findings reports, metrics, etc.) are a must

Preferred:

  • 2-3 years experience in pharmaceutical R&D domains
