Defining and Informing the Complex Field of User Experience (UX)

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

User Experience Excellence

  • As assigned, assume UX leadership within project/program teams
  • Collaborate with brand, creative, strategy, analytics, and technical project teams to define and document requirements (business, stakeholder, user, and content) and success metrics (quantitative and qualitative), overall user experience vision on projects, and recommend strategically sound solutions to meet client’s business needs
  • Work with client teams, stakeholders, and users to develop market and user definitions
  • Conduct UX-related research, including stakeholder and user interviews, surveys, and usability testing
  • Create customer journeys, experience maps, and visual program plans for proposals and projects
  • Develop information architectures and taxonomies for digital projects based on content and user needs
  • Document content distribution among various channels—websites, offline channels, email campaigns, social media
  • Design interfaces and interactions based on business goals and user preferences
  • Present recommendations to client and internal teams
  • Provide consultation to visual designers and developers to ensure defined UX-planning is executed
  • Provide consultation to project teams on interaction approach, usability, information taxonomy, and navigation
  • Potential client contact for interactive solutions feedback and education
  • Apply, evangelize, and train others in best practices for user-centered design and user research.
  • Stay current with core web development technology trends, capabilities, and limitations.
  • Work on more than one project at a time
  • Adhere to project budget and time constraints
  • Seek out opportunities for personal creative growth by working with other teams outside area of expertise
  • Miscellaneous UX Architecture tasks as required

Internal Relationships

  • Support directors to fulfill client needs
  • Interact with creative, technical, and account project/program team members
  • Participate in meetings and critiques; explain and substantiate existing or potential UX direction(s)
  • Read, write, and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, and memos
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, clients, and agency staff
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but objective written or oral instructions

Client Relationships

  • Assist in client communications and education as in pertains to UX
  • Assist in preparing and delivering client presentations

REQUIREMENTS

  • Think smart, live curiously, work collaboratively, and act passionately
  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university in fine arts, design, or similar discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Three plus years of post-graduate experience and/or internship is a must
  • Passion for new technology and organizational tools
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
