Palm Foleo

May 30th 2007

Palm announces their Foleo ‘mobile companion.’ Is this is the revolutionary device that was promised? I hope not. I thought that the reason one deals with the clunky form factor of a smartphone was so you would NOT need to carry around a laptop type device. Sigh.

What were they thinking? I would rather install a software on my pc to synch it with my Palm than carry a mini-pc! Not sure why would someone buy this product.

I agree with the point. I am not sure that at this price there will be a market where nanolaptop are a bit more expensive, but far more useful. They adress the same market as those nanolaptop with foleo. They adressing the same market. Let seen if the business executive will jump in foleo where they are perfectly happy with their nanolaptop.

Yeah, it seems a bit arb, my only guess is that some desktop users that don’‘t want to buy a full laptop will use it for convenience, due primarily to the weight and price point.

What I really dislike is the upside-down-logo-when-open thing, that’s so very Apple 10-years ago… and I hated it then too…!
