Arizona World Usability Day (WUD) 2011 Celebration, Sponsored by PayPal, Inc.
Since 2007, Phoenix has hosted a World Usability Day Event. This year, we are excited to have PayPal, Inc. sponsoring the event. The event will also be held at the local PayPal facility in Scottsdale, AZ.
Invited keynote speaker, Laura Faulkner, will present on the WUD 2011 theme. Dr. Faulkner is a Research Scientist at the University of Texas and Consultant/Strategist at FalconDay Consulting. She also is a three-time co-chair of UPA - International's annual global conferences.
Additionally, design professionals from PayPal and other local organizations will present their work and be available for questions and networking.
Laura’s keynote presentation will focus directly on the World Usability Day 2011 theme – EDUCATION: Designing for Social Change.
Designing for Change: Why you matter now more than ever
Who are you – an expert, an evaluator, a designer, a manager, a networker, a consumer? In every role you put your stamp on a product, a service, an idea, or an implementation. Yet, does it matter? Oh, yes, it does, as do you, and what you bring to the task.
A three-time co-chair of UPA-International's annual global conferences, a senior usability practitioner, and a lifelong student of human beings, Dr. Faulkner has a deep understanding of the field that is evolving through usability to user experience to experience design and more. Far beyond what we call ourselves, what we do every day is what will define everything that matters most. How we say it is what will determine how much of a difference our work will make. Be ready to walk ahead with how to best say it, when, and to whom, in the clear confidence that your daily walk will be Designing for Change.
