140 Characters Conference
Welcome to Jeff Pulver’s 140 Characters Conference! (#140conf)
The 140 Characters Conference: New York City (#140conf) will be taking place June 19-20, 2012 at the 92nd Street Y. The 92nd Street Y address is: 1395 Lexington Avenue, NY NY. #140conf NYC is expected to be the largest worldwide gathering of people interested in the effects of the real-time Internet on both business and “me” the people.
As people’s voices continue to be heard worldwide, and as we will be entering the final lap of a US Presidential election cycle, the theme for our 2012 event is “Finding and Sharing Meaning.”
#140conf exposes you to the power the Internet has to disrupt businesses, change lives and create serendipity. You will leave with a fresh outlook on how the real time web can be used in your business or personal life to actually do something meaningful.
Prepare to laugh, cry, connect and learn as each “character” shares authentic stories about how this new medium has effected their lives. From barn yard to board room, our eclectic group of speaks may be using the real time web differently but their stories all share one thing in common. The Internet is about being more human.
The truth is that the state of now can not easily be explained, you just have to experience it for yourself.
Our schedule is unique and fast paced. It is our intention to provide a platform for as many people as possible to share their thoughts and engage in conversation with the attending delegates. You will find individual talks set to: 10 minutes and most of the panel discussions set for 10 and 15 minutes.
In past years we have hosted speakers from: Europe, Asia, South America, the Pacific and from across the United States and Canada at #140conf in New York City.
Interested in having your voice heard at a #140conf event? We are always looking for new voices to introduce to our community. Just respond to our “Call for Speakers” (deadline is February 3, 2012.)
