Teehan+Lax UX Fund

Here’s an interesting experiment. A fund where companies are picked according to the user experience they provide. Not sure if I’d have EA in there as, for me at least, “doing business with them” hasn’t been that much of a positive experience. And yet I keep buying every single Battlefield game they release.

EA was not originally on our list, but was suggested by a friend of ours. We had some debate if they met our criteria. It is debateable, but chose to add them. Luckily for us ERTS is up 9%, currently our most successful purchase.

Admittedly, EA does manage to release very polished games on a yearly basis and people obviously love them. They do however have a tendency to try and monetize everything which is maybe better for the stock price than the gamer.
