Introducing the Reviews Section in UX Magazine

We’re pleased to announce that we are adding a Reviews section to UX Magazine. The goal of this section will be to look at existing software products, mobile apps, websites, and other solutions as instructive examples in understanding UX concepts and guiding the design of other products. The purpose of the reviews isn’t to pass judgment on the work of others, but rather to use the solutions they’ve designed in response to the challenges they faced as an opportunity to learn.

While some of our reviews will examine entire products, others will have a much narrower focus. We may review individual application screens, specific interaction design solutions, novel UI components, interesting types of data visualization, or other such focused solutions and questions. We’ll also examine redesigns and changes to existing products and sites.

Do you have any suggestions for products or solutions you’d like us to review? Please email your ideas to reviews@uxmag.com.

We’d like to welcome and thank the new members of the UX Magazine review team:

I can only echo previous comments, describing the process would be invaluable.

The previous comments have already great input. Looking forward to read some future reviews, i'm also a small experienced UXer trying to improve my knowledge in the area.

I think Petarsubotic's request is great idea. Giving extra insights into the methods of achieving your results would be highly interesting to me and probably also many other UXers, due to often the quite daunting task of picking proper procedures to observe, measure and test UI/UX designs.
Thanks!

What I think would be really interesting and beneficial to less experienced UXers (such as myself) is not only the result (i.e. the reviews) your respectable panel comes up with, but also the process in which you guys collaborate to reach the conclusion on particular experiences.

Will the reviews be done individually and results then compared or will you try and summarize the best findings? If latter, it would be great show the review process, how you do research, how you deal with opposing arguments, validate proposed improvements ( . . . ) This can be done either via recorded meetings, or minute notes. Little extra work, but it would be worth it. Just a though.
